My first guitar effect (or rather multi-effect) was the ZOOM G1XON

Why? Because it had drum patterns, which are an invaluable tool for learning to play while maintaining the right rhythm and tempo.

This effect turned out to be brilliant in its simplicity, so its successor G1X Four quickly took its place, whose interface allowed for faster and (for me) easier changes to settings.

When I started performing on stage, I decided to take a step forward and get something more serious. And I chose the Fender Mustang Floor. There is probably no more durable multi-effect in terms of use – metal reigns supreme as a material that ensures failure-free operation for many years.

So why did I decide to change after a year of intensive use?

Multi-effects such as the Fender Mustang have incredible guitar sound patterns sewn into them for various “occasions” – from metal to folk music. Of course, you can adjust them, combine changes with them, up to incredible oddities – there is nothing like an experiment.

However, I decided to create my own composition of effects, collecting step by step individual pieces of the entire chain of sounds. You might wonder, after all, using such an advanced effect, you can create any (let’s say almost any) sound…. Probably yes, but what I managed to create based on the set of individual effects collected based on listening… is different – neither better nor worse – just different, just mine : ))

So now, one by one. Before we move on to the effects…

NUX NPB-L BUMBLEBEE – The right pedalboard, made of aluminum with a carrying bag, which is a cool element in itself. This pedalboard won’t break – you have to treat it with an axe or hammer, generally you can’t touch it : ))

Palmer PWT 12 MK 2 – heavy duty power supply equipped with 12 shielded 9V inputs giving a total value of 2000mA – for me it’s extremely sufficient. The power supply works great, no interferences or overheating – Perfect solution.

Sometimes I probably exaggerate by using phrases like “ideal solution” – it’s simply a sign of my satisfaction with the equipment I managed to obtain.

Now… to the effects – I will present them in the order of connection, which does not quite match their arrangement on the floor.

1. NUX NTU-3 MKII FLOW TUNE – Tuner, not really an effect. I experimented a lot with the tuner, this is probably the fourth attempt, which I will stick with for a while. The basic parameter is the size – small, compact with a large display, allowing you to easily see the tuning indications. Small, simple, nicely made – ideal : ))

2. DIGITECH MOSAIC – polyphonic 12-string guitar emulator. This is a very original effect, which enchanted me with its sound. Does it really sound like a 12-string guitar? Opinions are divided, but it definitely fulfills the role of an octaver in the case of some songs. It gives such a polyphonic “organ” sound – it is difficult to define it clearly. Very unique in itself.

3 NUX NBK-5 MASAMUNE BOOST + KOMPRESSOR – As you will see further, the NUX effects really suited me. Are they better than others? Absolutely not, they are just different : ))

Masamune is able to boost the clean sound to a level where it is not necessary to use overdrive or distortion. If I care about a clear clean sound without any overdrive, this is the perfect tool : ))

4 NUX QUEEN OF TONE – DUAL OVERDRIVE – the effect, together with Masamune and Atlantic, is part of the Verdugo series, which includes effects that are a 2 in 1 combination. The effects are selected in pairs so that they provide a wide range of possibilities on their own, and at the same time allow you to save space on the floor. Returning to overdrive – a combination of two types of classic and blues, which can also be mixed with each other by setting the order. Each of them also has a “boost” that can be turned on, for example, for solo time, to add even more power to the overdrive – Awesome : ))

5 NUX MOD CORE DELUXE MKII – Chorus in 8 varieties. This effect exhausts the issues related to the sound of the chorus mode, it is simply not worth looking any further :)) Each mode sounds different and is based on proven patterns. I personally really like the U-VIBE inspired by Dunlop. The CE-1 based on Boss is also interesting. The SCF using a flanger as a base is very original. The others are not inferior in quality and possibilities. The subjective choice plays the basic criterion in this case : )

6 TC ELECTRONIC CRESCENDO AUTO SWELL PEDAL – this is probably my favorite : )) auto swell effect. Why an expression pedal when we have such a gem. Perfect in its simplicity and invaluable in creating a tone color. You just have to listen to it : ))

7 CHAOS HEART BEAT TREMOLO – I assumed that I would only use the tremolo for some songs due to its specificity. That’s why I was looking for something simple, with such a natural tone. And here you go, despite only two potentiometers and one switch, the Heart Beat tremolo offers a wide range of sounds that fully satisfy me.

8 NUX NDR-5 ATLANTIC – it all started with this effect, I bought it first and basically “built” more to maintain consistency with what Atlantic offers. Maybe that’s why NUX effects constitute the vast majority in my set. On board the device there are three delay patterns, three reverb patterns, which can be mixed together in any way, and the final effect will exceed all expectations : )))

And finally

9 BOSS IR-2 Amp & Cabinet – the last link merged into the system – an amplifier simulator (offers 11 types) with the possibility of regulating tones, reverb and gain. A definite difference in favor of improving the sound quality. The coolest thing about it is that in my case I use the “clear tone” sound the most, i.e. basic, or “rfier” i.e. with the most extreme distortion : ))

And that would be it basically….

Perhaps the time will come for another evolution in equipment, but until then I intend to enjoy what I have, and there is a lot of it : ))

And now, a sample : )
